SARAH KAY ROSES GARDEN

This card was made for Sarah Kay Challenge - Week 13 "True Blue", and for this Challenge, I chose to use Sarah Kays's lovely stamp "Rose's Garden". This was the first time I have used this image, and I was really pleased with the outcome, using as ever my Art-Kure Watercolour Brushes. I cut the stamped image with my Oval Nesty, and also cut a Scalloped Oval from pale blue pearlescent cardstock. The base card was covered with a blue floral backing paper (sorry no name, found it in my craft stash!). I then took two scraps of pale blue hammered card, and ran them through my Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" embossing folder, and for added interest, then rubbed over a blue chalk eye inkpad over the top, to make the "dots" stand out more.
I then placed this gorgeous blue "dotty" ribbon over the two pieces of card, and finished the card off with a blue flower centered in the middle with a blue "dotty" brad to go with the ribbon, and finally three blue buttons.
Thank you for visiting my Blog, and I hope you will come back and visit again soon! Happy Crafting X

CUDDLY BUDDLY CHARLEY WITH WILLOW

Hello crafters, hope everyone is well! A couple of posts from me today, as I missed yesterday. I took myself off to The BIG Stamp Show at Alexanda Palace, and spent WAY too much money, but worth every penny! My first Challenge completed today is from Friday Sketchers - Sketch No. 21. The backing papers were all from Funky Fairy's "Funky Garden" download. All the papers have also been cut down to size, and layered on pink cardstock too! LILI OF THE VALLEY JASMINE GLAM

My second Challenge for today is from a NEW Challenge Blog called Lili of the Valley. Check their Blog out, and maybe even try out their Challenges every week. So, for this first Challenge - Lili of the Valley Challenge No. 1 - "Welcome".
Being their first Challenge, the topic was "welcome", as I do not have very many Lili of the Valley products, I thought I would work with what I had. I chose to use Lili of the Valley stamp called Jasmine Glam, which has been coloured in with my Art-Kure Watercolour brushes, and then added a few "spots" of glitter on the dress, necklace, and head-piece. Then Jasmine was cut out using my Scalloped Oval Nesty, and the edges brushed lightly with a pale pink Chalk-Eye ink pad. Both backing papers I have used are also from Lili of the Valley. The card was then finished off with pink organza ribbon, and with the same ribbon, I made two bows. The two silk flowers have been added on the corner, and to balance it out, I have made a sentiment up on my computer "Welcome to your New Home - Let's Party".

Hope you enjoyed your visit, and please come back and visit soon! Happy Crafting X

WHIFF OF JOY MELINDA HELPING ANGEL

Hello everyone, I am so enjoying my week off work, but unfortunately all good things have to come to an end, and I will be back to the grind-stone on Monday, so better enjoy the rest of my time off by doing something I enjoy.... Crafting! This Challenge I have completed, comes from a NEW Challenge Blog for Whiff of Joy. Check out their NEW Challenge Blog site, by clicking on my link. So, for this Whiff of Joy Challenge No. 1 - Sketch by Katharina, I have chosen to use Whiff of Joy's Melinda Helping Angel. Using my favourite Art-Kure Watercolour Brushes, I have coloured her in, and then cut the image out using my scalloped round Nestie, and have done the same for the second circle. My base backing paper is handmade using Moonshadow Inks. I have then used two pieces of left-over scraps of backing paper from a previous project, but they were originally printed from a Funky Hand Paper Collection CD. Each piece of paper has been layered on some lilac pearlescent cardstock. The sentiment has come from a rub-on, which was a FREEBIE out of a craft magazine. For the final touches, I have added a piece of lilac ribbon, and a lovely silk flower with a gem brad added to the middle.
Hope you enjoyed your visit, and pop back soon. Happy Crafting X

Last one from me today, and this Challenge was from A Spoonful of Sugar - Challenge 18 "So Charming". I have chosen Whiff of Joy's "Melinda Hugging Heart" stamp, which I have coloured in using my favourite Art-Kure Watercolour Brushes. She has then been mounted on a piece of red cardstock from my stash. The red backing paper is a download from Cuddly Buddly, and the Black and White dotty papers are both from Pink Petticoat's "His 'n Hers" Paper Collection CD. I was going for a bit of the "Valentines" theme with this card, so finished the card off with a strip of zebra print ribbon, and a handmade-paper heart, and a little bunch of paper roses. I have punched a brad through the bottom of the heart, and then hung my "Heart" charm, which I bought from "Accessorize".
Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I hope you enjoyed your visit! Happy Crafting X

VAGAS SHOWGIRL

A quick Challenge posting from me this morning before I get stuck into the boring housework! My motivation for getting the housework done, is as soon as I get it finished, the sooner I can get down crafting again!!! This card is for Kaboodle Challenge No. 4 - "Non traditional Embellishments". This was a bit tricky at first, then I remembered I had received a pack of cards through the post for a holiday promotion. So, suddenly Vagas came to mind, and that is why I chose to use my "Showgirl" stamp. Then while I was placing the "cards" down to position them, another lightning bolt hit me, and I thought why not turn it into a 21st Birthday card. Also going with the red, black and white theme of the cards, I decided to use up a piece of the download paper from Kaboodle's first Challenge. Then to finish off the card, I have made a sentiment on my computer, and added a couple of Red paperclips to finish the card off.

SARAH KAY CREATIVE CD CASE

Wow, this was a great Challenge! This Challenge is from Sarah Kay Challenge - Week 12 "Creative CD Cases". I have taken this opportunity to do something I have been meaning to do for a long time..... I always look at my "Storage" for my Nestabilities, and keep thinking to myself, that one day I may lose a few, and my idea was to store them in CD cases! Well when this Challenge came up, it was a "kick-start" for me to put my plan into action. So one down, few more to go...
I started off by stamping and colouring in my Sarah Kay image "Picnic of Daisies", and cut her, and the layer with my oval "Nesties". All the backing papers have been printed from Pink Petticoat Paper Collections. The very bottom backing paper was a FREEBIE download from Pink Petticoat, and the rest were from my favourite CD "His 'n Hers". The inside left side of the cover, I simply layered up in the different sizes of the "Nesties" various papers. On the "CD" side, I have cut out a piece of card out in the shape of a CD, and stuck "Double-sided" tape across it, then removed the tape, and "stuck" the "Nesties" on it. The double-sided tape will keep the nesties from moving around, and is not so sticky that it will leave a residue on your nesty. The back cover was just one piece of backing paper from my FREEBIE download from Pink Petticoat. My final step was to type a "tab" to describe which nesty is in the box, which I have stuck on the side of the CD, and also inside the CD, this will enable me to know exactly which set of nesties I have in which CD case.
Hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog, and please fell free to come back and visit anytime. Happy Crafting X

HIGH HOPES ICE PRINCESS

Yet, another Challenge for me today.... I am on leave this week, so I will be busy crafting as much as I can! This card is for Sketch Saturday Challenge - Sketch No. 17. This cute stamp is from High Hopes, and she is called "Ice Princess". I have chosen a lilac theme for this card, which starts off with the base card of Lilac pearlescent cardstock. The image has been layered up on the same colour cardstock, and both image and layer have been cut from "Circle" Nesties. The backing paper was a FREEBIE from a craft magazine, and the "dottie" paper and ribbons are leftover scraps from other projects (I hate throwing away papers, so I hoard every little bit!). For a final touch, I have placed four lilac brads in the corners, for a little added interest.
Thanks for stopping by, and hope you enjoyed your visit! Happy Crafting X

PENNY BLACK BUBBLY

Another post from me today, and this one is for Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Challenge No. 15 "Decorate the inside of your card". For this Challenge, I have chosen two images from the Penny Black T-for Transparent Collection called "Bubbly".
The first image has been placed on the front of my "Gate-fold" card, and the second image has been stamped on the inside of my card. Both images have been coloured in with the watercolour brushes. The backing paper I have used is from Pink Petticoat's Paper Collection CD "His 'n Hers", and has been placed in each panel of the gatefold card, and a little strip used down down spine of the card inside. For the finished touch, I have used a sentiment, and a couple of flowers, and a few lilac gems. The sentiment inside the card is also off the "Bubbly" collection.

THanks for stopping by, and call back soon! Happy Crafting X

SUGAR NELLIE KITTY

My Challenge I have completed for today is Friday Sketchers - Sketch No. 20. I have chosen Sugar Nellie's stamp "Kitty", and I have coloured her in using my Art-Kure Watercolour Brushes. Because I had gone for yellos and oranges in my colouring, I decided to use those colours as my base colours for the card. All of these backing papers have been printed off Funky Hand's Paper Collection CD "Funky Seasons". I then punched three squares with one of my punches, and put them thru the Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" Embossing folder. The sentiment was stamped straight onto the pearlescent card. The card was finished off the three strips of Yellow ribbon, and two silk flowers.

Hope you enjoyed your visit, and please come back and visit soon! Happy Crafting X

The image was cut out, edged with a Lime
Green chalk eye, to take the harshness of the edges, and then layered up on pale green pearlescent cardstock. The two backing papers were off-cuts from a previous project, but were orginally printed off Cuddly Buddly downloads.

JOANNA SHEEN MESSY RABBIT

One more from me today.... This Challenge is from Kaboodle Doodles - Challenge No. 3 "Tearing it up!". I have selected a NEW Joanna Sheen Stamp called "Messy Rabbit Bath Tub" (MR114), and once again using my good old faithfuls, my Art-Kure Watercolour Brushes, I have coloured the image in. To give the "Bubbles" more impact, I have used Glossy Accents over the top of each bubble to give them the effect of looking like "Proper" Bubbles! Don't know how affective is looks on the photo, but on real-life they look better! I have then layered the image onto a piece of pale blue hand-made paper, which I have "torn" around the edges. The background papers have all been torn, and layered. I was trying for the effect of "Greens" for the GRASS, and "Blues" for the SKY, and the "Yellow" flower representing the SUN! I was very pleased with the effect I was trying to achieve.
The sentiment finished off the card, and this has come from the same Messy Rabbit Collection.

Thanks for taking the time to browse, and I would love it, if you came back and visited soon! Happy Crafting X
